My days are filled with preparing to embark on this journey. As I sit on my bed with my Macbook among piles of boxes, tape, Sharpies, lists, and photographs I have had some time to mull over the little questions and the greater ones, to try to focus on the important, while my mind dances among the minute issues. I feel as if life is merely a sequence of decisions, waltzing arm in arm one after the other, often taunting me in somewhat whining voices, bragging of their significance and gravity, reminding me that these answers have the power to dictate the rest of my life. After extended contemplation and soul searching...
I've declared my major as International Affairs with a concentration in French. I feel this will open doors to many opportunities that I would openly embrace in the areas of non-profit organizations, teaching, diplomacy, and being a well-rounded philosophe.
I begin this educational experience at Kennesaw State University on January 9th with the following class schedule:
T/TH:
9:30-10:45 AM Pre-Calculus
11:00-12:15 PM Freshman Seminar
3:30-4:45 PM Intro to French 1
5:00-6:15 PM Science, Society, and Environment 1
6:30-7:45 PM American Government
WED.:
6:30-9:15 Perspectives in Psychology
As "the day" gets closer my excitement grows and I try all the more to convince myself of the lack of reason behind my insecurities and apprehensions. Reality is slowly sinking in as this step into the unknown is becoming more and more tangible. I received a heavy package today containing my textbooks (which most definitely do not appear to be worth $400!), which when opened let out a gust of air. Every atom was bursting with reminders of the excitement and pleasure of new books, the satisfaction of finishing them, the determination to ace a test, and the love of learning. Yes, the answer came in the mail today. I'm ready.
"I'm taking a chance,
this could be different,
this could be all I'm waiting for."
this could be different,
this could be all I'm waiting for."

Keep up those good grades. I guess Valentine's Day is for test taking too for scholars. We pray for clarity of mind.
Hugs and kisses and Happy Valentine's Day!
